KIDS TRI IS BACK!

We are excited to back in Westminster for the 2nd Annual Kids Tri! Join us on Sunday, July 29, 2012 as kids swim, bike and run their way to fitness and improved confidence!

How It Works

The Westminster Kids Triathlon begins in the outdoor pool and utilizes the sidewalks, paths and roads around the club for the bike and run portions. Course maps will be posted soon once permits have been secured.

Each athlete will be required to check in on race morning between 6:30am–8:15 am. Registration tables will be set up to the left of the main doors outside the club. At check-in, participants will receive their race number, helmet number, swim cap, exact start time and timing chip. Once registration is complete each athlete will be body marked. Body marking consists of writing the race number on the upper arm and age on the back of the calf. This is done to help identify the athletes when they are in the water.

Once body marking is complete you may head into the transition area to set up your bike. Parents will be allowed into the transition to help set up but will NOT be allowed back into the transition area once the race has begun. The transition area will close at 8:15am and after that no one will be allowed into the barricaded area unless they are racing.

Athletes should report to the pool area at least 15 minutes prior to their start time. Volunteers will hold signs with wave numbers and when your wave number is shown, please head down to the pool deck and connect with the volunteers.

The racers will exit through the North gate and enter the transition area at the east entrance. The Bike and Run exit are located at the West end of transition area. The bike loop is 2.5 miles. 11-14 year olds will complete two loops. The Run is an out and back with seperate turn arounds for the different age groups. For a map of the course click here

Give a Mom and Dad a good luck hug and kiss and it's off to the races!

Triathlon Clinics

These clinics will provide you and your athletes the opportunity to learn about triathlon. Topics include training, racing, rules and equipment. Each clinic will only require your time, however you are welcome to bring your child's bike, running shoes and swim gear for inspection.

The fee for the first two clinics is $10 per child. Each child will receive a race day packet worth $10. The final clinic is strongly encouraged and free for all entrants.
